randomness eighty-three...

i just watched a sizzler commercial on tv and it made me think of my dad and when i was younger how he'd take me there sometimes as a special treat. or the golden corral. (we usually ate at wendy's or KFC.)

fecking ruling.

i remember when i first became financially independent (at 15) though, and how $20 was a lllllllllllllllot of money back then. even when i first moved out here, i was disappointed that the ATM machines didn't give out tens like the ATM machines back home.

i think ME and i even ate at red lobster in mountain view one time as a HUGE splurge. that was back when we were only making $6.50 and hour and our rent was $700.

holy crap. i don't know how the hell we survived. i think it was 39cent produce and free baked goods after close. and also the "damaged goods", "haha voids", and the under ringing each other at the registers. (hey, we wouldn't have done it if we had any other choice. we were starving! i lived off of free (legitimately) bread and prego for a year.)

anyway, what was my point here?

oh. that now sizzler and red lobster seem so "low-tech" to me when they used to seem so out of my league.

(but damned if i'd turn that shit down if somebody said lets go right now.)

That's some fascinating backstory you're hinting at here...
